Achievements
  1. Training and Capacity Building:
    • Trained 44 CAAP staff and volunteers, including 26 on the WPS agenda, 34 on PSEA, child safeguarding, fraud awareness, and diversity, and 15 on WPS proposal writing, communication, and budget management. Post-test evaluations indicated significant improvements in knowledge and skills.
  2. Improved Organizational Systems:
    • CAAP made substantial progress in strengthening its organizational systems, implementing new HR and protection policies, and installing Peachtree accounting software to enhance financial management. Senior management provided orientations on these new policies to staff.
  3. ICT Support:
    • The procurement of essential ICT equipment, including a photocopier, printer, laptops, and desktop computers, enabled CAAP to better promote the WPS agenda.
  4. Strategic Planning:
    • Engaged a consultant to develop a 7-year strategic plan (2024-2030), focusing on empowering girls and women. Additionally, a gender analysis was conducted for one of CAAP’s projects.
Impact

The project successfully built CAAP's institutional capacity in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and promoting the WPS agenda. The training and capacity-building efforts enhanced the skills of CAAP staff and volunteers in proposal writing, project management, and facilitation. The improvements to policies and systems, along with the new strategic plan, have reinforced CAAP’s commitment to gender equality, protection, and accountability. These changes have also enhanced CAAP’s ability to secure future grants and strengthen its capacity to end violence against women and girls, including harmful practices like FGM.
